Pandemic Preparedness and Recovery: Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation Accepting Grants from Companies, Business Groups to Support Community Collaboratives
Download White Paper: America’s Business Community Leads Pandemic Response and Preparedness - COVID-19 recovery, resilience to economic fall-out and support for Community Collaborative model to prevent the next public health crisis
MCLEAN, Va.-- Calling on America’s business community to provide grants and support for Community Collaborative models focused on pandemic response, preparedness and recovery, the not-for-profit Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation (TLI) expands its commitment to driving innovative thinking and action on global issues relating to health, education and economic empowerment. TLI’s Community Collaboratives are proven to galvanize business and healthcare leaders to deal head-on with a healthcare emergency, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, without any hesitation or time lost due to a lack of preparation.
“The goal of the TLI Community Collaborative approach is to be a facilitator of essential business planning to assure preparedness in the face of a regional or national health emergency, epidemic or pandemic of extraordinary proportions,” explains Bill Oldham, founder and chairman of the Board, TLI. “This can be accomplished by eliciting the input of an extensive grouping of local business and healthcare leaders and serving as a repository for information and guidance needed in the event of a significant healthcare crisis. By developing partnerships with these leaders in public and private businesses, the outcome will be a better-prepared community. It is in the best interest of business leaders to not only react to current and ongoing pandemic challenges, but to also prepare for future catastrophic events.”
Despite its devastating impact on populations and businesses worldwide, COVID-19 is providing an opportunity to reassess, discover and strengthen the fabric of businesses large and small, communities urban and rural and organizations across the country in order to mitigate the brunt of future health crises. TLI is now accepting grants and support from business groups, regional and local chambers of commerce, labor unions, Fortune 500 companies, foundations, law firms securing government funds, preparedness grants and contracts and others.
“Employers and employees alike are now paying a steep price with the devastating impact of disease, the mandated closing of businesses and the furloughing of employees nationwide,” continues Oldham. “Knowing that this ‘once in a lifetime’ pandemic is likely to occur again in our lifetime, it has become imperative that a new and effective means of protecting both employer and employee – and ensuring the survival of businesses - must emerge outside of government programs. We are all in this together.”
